THE FOLLOWING IS A
MESSAGE FROM THE FREEDOM ABROAD PROJECT.
Who are
Americans?
Listen to this ad
AMERICA is more than just a country defined by its borders.
It is a nation with a profound purpose.
America is now 225 years old. The United States of America was established with
laws based on a fundamental belief that people are inherently good, not evil.
People from every corner of the globe have risked the uncertainty of immigration
to come to America to search for freedom and justice.
The principles that form of the American system of government have proved to be
advantageous to people from many different cultures. Every religion and culture
is welcome within America's borders, including the Muslim community. With more
than 17 million Muslims living in America, and 1,209 mosques to worship God in,
they have enjoyed great success.
The citizens of the United States care about the sufferings and inhumanities of
the world. We raise our children to believe in hard work, to help one another in
times of suffering or great difficulty, to inspire great minds through
education, and to break down the walls and barriers associated with the
injustice and cruel treatment of people throughout our world. We care about all
people, regardless of race or religion; that is why we fight and die for others,
to free our fellow man from tyranny and enslavement. Our fundamental desire is
to bring freedom and justice to as many people as we can. It is not our
intention to infringe on anyone's religious beliefs or to dictate how they will
live.
The American people take great pride in the beliefs of individual and religious
freedom and hold them up as their two highest values. In fact, it is our shared
belief in individual freedom that best defines what an American truly is. And
more than anything else, it is what binds us together as a nation.
The Freedom Abroad Project was created by American citizens to inform people of
other nations about the True America.
